Professional and Personal History

Chad C. VanOrman graduated Summa Cum Laude with a business degree from Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia in 2005. He then received his law degree from the University of Akron in 2008.

Originally intending to obtain a law degree to practice only corporate law, he devoted a significant portion of time during law school participating in the Small Business Clinic. He was able to work directly with small business owners needing legal assistance as well as individuals in the community desiring to start a business of their own. It was that experience that sealed a desire to serve the needs of small business owners who need assistance navigating the sometimes complex legal issues affecting their business.

Meanwhile, during law school, he also felt captivated and intrigued with criminal law. He excelled in Trial Advocacy classes and thrived in the courtroom setting. He even began to work during law school at the Summit County Prosecutor’s office in Akron, Ohio as the head prosecutor’s first and only personal law clerk. It was a position that allowed Mr. VanOrman to be exposed to all aspects of criminal law. Following graduation, he even became an assistant prosecutor in that same office where he later prosecuted numerous courtroom trials on behalf of Summit County.

After several years of practice, he decided to move his family from Ohio to Tifton, GA, his wife’s hometown. Following the relocation, he began working at Tift County’s District Attorney’s office. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. VanOrman handled all felony criminal cases for Turner County. Mr. VanOrman continued to work at the District Attorney’s office until feeling a strong desire to practice defense in the community and also return to his “business roots”.

On a personal note, Chad VanOrman’s passion has always been fighting for fairness and equality. He feels personal vindication when fighting for the underdog or that person who may be feeling overwhelmed with legal issues. He truly believes that every person is entitled to their Constitutional rights and should be informed and protected of those rights. He is a tireless worker who will remain committed to his clients.
